We’re a team of sound and movement practitioners based in Koh Samui. We teach handpan, host sound journeys with live instruments, run open jams, and hold weekly sessions — because we believe this kind of practice should be accessible to everyone, not just those who already know what it is.

Whether you’ve never heard a handpan or you’ve been in this world for years — come play, come rest, come move.

01

About
sound journeys.

What actually happens in a session?
You lie down on a mat, close your eyes, and rest while we play live instruments — handpan, gong, and Tibetan and crystal bowls. That’s it. No participation required. Most people fall somewhere between awake and asleep for the whole thing.
Do I need any experience or background?
None at all. You don’t need to know anything about music or sound work. If you can lie still for an hour, you’re ready.
What does it feel like?
Different for everyone. Some people feel deeply relaxed. Some notice their mind going quiet. Some feel nothing unusual and just leave feeling rested. All of those are fine outcomes.
Is it like meditation?
Not exactly. You don’t have to focus or follow any instructions. The sound does most of the work — you just show up and let it.
Can I fall asleep?
Yes, and plenty of people do.
What should I wear and bring?
Loose, comfortable clothes. We provide mats. Bring a light layer if you run cold — lying still for an hour can make you cooler than expected.
Should I eat beforehand?
Eat light. A full meal right before makes it harder to relax.
Are there any reasons I shouldn’t come?
If you’re pregnant, have epilepsy, a recent surgery, a hearing condition, or significant sound sensitivity — message us first and we’ll figure out what works for you.

02

About
handpan lessons.

Do I need musical experience to learn handpan?
No. Most people who come to us have never played an instrument before. The handpan is built so that almost everything you play sounds good — there are no wrong notes in the traditional sense.
How quickly can I learn?
Most people leave their first session able to play simple patterns that actually sound like music. It’s one of the fastest instruments to get started on.
Private or group — which is better for me?
Private lessons are 60 minutes, one student, full focus — good if you want to move at your own pace or have specific goals. Group lessons are 90 minutes for 2–3 people — better if you’re coming with a friend or travel companion and want a shared experience.
Do I need my own instrument?
No. We have instruments you can play during the session. If you’re thinking about buying one, we’re happy to talk you through that too.
Where do lessons take place?
At the Noom Studio open-air terrace in Lamai, or we can come to your hotel, villa, or chosen spot across Samui.
I’m only in Samui for a few days — is it worth doing just one lesson?
Yes. A single session is enough to learn the basics and leave with something you can keep practicing, even without an instrument.

03

Practical
stuff.

How do I book?
Message us on WhatsApp or Instagram. We’ll find a time that works.
How much does it cost?
Sound journeys at the studio start at (+500 THB each additional guest, max 6). We come to your space (up to 10 guests). Weekly open sessions on Sundays are 600 THB per person. Handpan lesson pricing — message us to confirm.
Can I bring kids?
Yes, message us and we’ll let you know what works depending on age.
Is the studio indoors or outdoors?
Open-air terrace in Lamai — surrounded by trees, open sky.
What if I need to cancel?
Life happens. Just message us as early as you can and we’ll sort it out.
