Noom Starter handpans are handcrafted for us by master artisans at our partner workshop and engraved with the Noom logo.
Prices and payment
Prices are in Thai baht, and we always charge in baht. The amounts shown in other currencies are a guide at recent exchange rates; your bank converts the baht amount and sets the final figure, sometimes with a small fee. In Thailand you can also pay by Thai QR bank transfer. Shipping is added at checkout.
Dispatch and delivery
Handpans in stock at the workshop leave within 2 to 5 days of payment. You choose the courier at checkout:
- Standard (EMS): 15 to 20 days from dispatch.
- Express (UPS or DHL): 7 to 10 days from dispatch.
These are courier times and can run longer at customs or in holiday seasons. Every parcel is tracked and needs a signature on delivery. Please film yourself opening the parcel: if anything is wrong, that video is what the workshop asks for. Before it is packed we email you a video of your actual handpan, so you hear it before it ships. You get the tracking number the day it leaves.
If a model is not in stock, or for custom orders, we tell you the build time before you pay.
If delivery is delayed
Customs checks, holidays and courier backlogs can add days or weeks, and they do not make an order cancellable. If your parcel is late, message us with your order number and we chase the courier for you. If the tracking shows no movement for 30 days, or the courier confirms the parcel is lost, we send you a replacement handpan or refund the order in full. A parcel refused at delivery, or not collected in time, is not a lost parcel (see Import duties above).
Import duties and taxes
Prices do not include import duties, VAT, GST or customs fees in your country. You pay these to the courier or customs when the parcel arrives. Please check these costs before you order. A handpan refused at delivery, or not collected in time, cannot be sent back to the workshop, so it cannot be refunded.
Collect at the studio
You can choose to collect in Lamai, Koh Samui, at no shipping cost. If the model is at the studio it is ready right away; otherwise we ship it to the studio and message you when it arrives. You are welcome to come and play the studio D Kurd 9 before you buy.
3-Day Handpan Journey with your handpan
The 3-Day Handpan Journey is taught one to one at the studio in Lamai, so it is sold with a handpan you collect at the studio. Bought together, the Journey is ฿10,000 instead of its usual ฿12,000. Every 3-Day Handpan Journey student also gets a one-time code for 10% off a handpan, sent by email or WhatsApp. Enter it at checkout. The code takes 10% off the handpan and bag, not shipping or add-ons, and it does not combine with the Journey and handpan price above. After your order we agree the three days with you on WhatsApp. The first lesson (฿1,500) is credited toward the Journey if you book it later. Every handpan comes with Noom Learn at noomsound.studio/learn: every handpan level and the D Kurd 9 Practice Book. The sound healing courses are sold separately.
Quality guarantee
Every handpan is tuned and tested before it leaves the workshop, and you hear it on video before it ships. If it arrives out of tune or damaged in shipping, we put it right at no cost to you: we pay a local handpan tuner near you to retune it, or we send a free replacement.
- Tell us within 15 days of delivery. Send your unboxing video and a sound video that shows the tuning problem, or photos and a video of the damage and the packaging. The workshop's makers check them and we tell you the fix.
- No need to ship it back to the workshop: return shipping and import tax cost more than a local tuner.
- Not covered: dents or damage after delivery, drops, rust from salt air or storage, or retuning you arrange yourself without asking us first.
Cancellations
Once you pay, an order cannot be cancelled. A stock handpan is prepared for you straight away, and a custom handpan goes into production as soon as the 50% is paid. Please ask us anything before you order.
Returns
We do not accept returns or give refunds for a change of mind. Before it ships you hear your own handpan on video, so please ask us anything before you order.
If your handpan arrives out of tune or damaged, the quality guarantee above applies in full.
Custom orders
Custom handpans start with a quote. You pay 50% to start the build and the other 50% once we have sent you photos and a sound video of the finished instrument, before it ships. The build starts as soon as the first 50% is paid, so it cannot be refunded. The quality guarantee above applies in full.
Sound instruments (travel kit)
The small instruments on our sound instruments page are at the studio in Lamai, Koh Samui. Prices are in Thai baht.
- Collect at the studio: free. Pay by card online, or reserve and pay by card, Thai QR or cash when you collect. We hold a reserved order for 7 days and message you on WhatsApp to agree a time.
- Post in Thailand: ฿200 per order, paid by card online. We post it after payment and email you the tracking number.
- Damaged in the post: send us photos of the item and the packaging within 7 days of delivery and we replace it or refund it.
- Returns: we do not take returns for a change of mind. Come and hear any instrument at the studio, or ask us, before you buy.
Practice books (digital products)
Our practice books are PDFs: the D Kurd 9 Practice Book, Sound Healing Foundations and Music Theory for Sound Healing (The Arc). You pay once, by card through Omise. The price is in Thai baht; there is no subscription and nothing renews.
When the payment goes through, the book is yours. It opens the levels of its course in Noom Learn, and the PDF waits in My materials. Sign in with the email you paid with, a link and no password, and download it on any device, as often as you like. Access has no end date.
The Arc includes Foundations. If you bought Foundations first with the same email, what you paid for it comes off the price of The Arc.
The PDF is licensed to you for your own practice and teaching preparation. Please do not share, resell or upload it. You may print it for yourself.
Refunds: before you download the PDF, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of paying. Once you have downloaded it, we cannot refund it, because a digital file cannot be returned. If the file does not open or a link does not work, tell us and we fix it or send it again. Not sure yet? The free tools in Noom Learn show you how the course works before you buy.
Gifts
On our gifts page you can buy a practice book, or a gift set of instruments with a book, for someone else. You pay by card through Omise, in Thai baht.
- The gift code: after payment you get a gift code and a printable card. We email your friend on the day you pick, from 8:00 Thai time. Until then you can change their email or the day with the link in your receipt.
- Opening it: your friend opens the gift at noomsound.studio/learn/redeem with their own email. The book then belongs to that email, as in Practice books above. A code works once and stays valid for 12 months.
- Instruments in a gift set: collection and posting work as in Sound instruments above, including damage in the post.
- No refunds: gift codes are not refundable and cannot be exchanged for money, whether or not they have been used. If a code does not work, or the email did not arrive, tell us and we fix it or send it again.
